In a significant diplomatic engagement, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, hosted Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant-General Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov, along with his delegation in Doha on Thursday. The high-level meeting underscored the strengthening of defense ties between the two countries.

The discussions centered on the latest regional developments and security challenges, emphasizing the need for enhanced military cooperation. Both sides expressed a commitment to fostering joint coordination amid the evolving geopolitical landscape, reflecting a shared interest in maintaining stability and security in the region.

A highlight of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on military cooperation. This agreement marks a significant step forward in formalizing defense collaboration between the Qatari Ministry of Defence and its Uzbek counterpart, setting a framework for future joint initiatives and strategic partnerships.

Senior officers and officials from both nations participated in the discussions, highlighting the importance of this bilateral engagement. The meeting not only reinforced the existing ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan but also laid the groundwork for deepening military relations in the future.
