Ireland’s Ryder Cup Daily Tickets Reach Record €434 for 2024 Event

Ryder Cup Europe has announced a significant increase in ticket prices for next year’s prestigious event at Adare Manor in County Limerick, where the U.S. team will attempt to reclaim the trophy. A daily ticket will be priced at €499 (£434) when sales open to Irish residents on Friday, marking nearly a twofold rise from the €260 that spectators paid in Rome three years ago.

For those attending the practice days, tickets are more affordable with prices set at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, while Thursday’s session, which features the opening ceremony, costs €179 for adults and €30 for children. Despite these record-high prices for a European-hosted Ryder Cup, fans paid $750 (£555) for the event at Bethpage in New York last year, when Europe emerged victorious over the U.S.

Richard Atkinson, the chief Ryder Cup officer, explained the rationale behind the price hike, noting the changes over the past four years since Rome. While acknowledging the increase, he highlighted that their pricing remains lower than that of the Bethpage event. “We’ve tried to make this as accessible as possible to a wide demographic of people,” he stated, pointing out that practice day tickets start at €89, with junior tickets from €20.

Atkinson also emphasized that the prices are in line with the event’s growing stature as a major global sporting occasion. “This event has grown in stature and profile, it’s one of the biggest sporting events in the world. We’re confident in our pricing but we’ve made it accessible to everyone,” he added.

In an effort to compensate for the increased ticket costs, organizers are promising an enhanced experience for attendees. The 2027 Ryder Cup, returning to Ireland for the first time since Europe’s win in 2006 at Straffan, County Kildare, will feature extensive plans to improve the on-site fan experience. This includes a record 20,000 grandstand seats and a greater number of giant screens to ensure a memorable event for all present.
